“Sugar Pears” is a 5-member band in Tokyo aiming for soft and mellow pop music.
Its mellow sound, gentle, idyllic, and smooth to listen to, is encrusted with the essence of music such as soul, jazz, and pop, while freeing their listeners from the hustle and bustle of the city and the hassles of everyday life and, from time to time, inviting such listeners to time travel to the city pop era.
Their sophisty pop new song “Amai Aimai,” literally translated as “Sweet Ambiguity,” is exquisitely portraying the vaguely unbearable loneliness associated with the relationship between two people in love, and the unexpectedly light-hearted feeling of disengagement.
The song “Amai Aimai” is being digitally released as the new single of “Sugar Pears” on July 19, 2023.
